Subway it testing Gluten-Free Bread

Great news for GF eaters - - Subway is in the process of testing 2 gluten free items:  a gluten-free sub rolls and brownies.  These items are being tested in Dallas and Tyler, Texas markets.

To prevent cross contamination, the gluten-free rolls and brownies will come in pre-packaged and individually wrapped packaging.  The sandwich artists will be trained on how to cut the rolls with a pre-wrapped knife that is only used for tha particular sandwich and then discarded.  Additionally, only one sandwich artist will touch gluten-free orders so to ensure a totally safe gluten-free meal.

For more information, visit Subway online.

Applebee's

The bottom line - do not go to Applebee's if you are required to eat Gluten-Free. The server tried. . .however, I ended up getting extremely sick.

I came home "after" eating at Applebee's only to find out that Applebee's does not have the desire to work with people who have allergies or sensitivities. One blogger even noted that the manager told her they would not serve her.

Just wanted to let you know - stay away if you have food allergies!

So for your safety, we recommend notifying the Dairy Queen® staff of your allergy or intolerance and requesting they thoroughly clean the Blizzard® machine before blending your Blizzard® to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.

When in doubt whether a product may contain a particular allergen, we recommend you purchase a pre-packaged manufactured novelty treat, which contains an ingredient listing and nutrition facts panel on the package.

Dairy Queen® restaurants are very busy and cross contamination may occur between ingredients. Thus a 100% confidence level cannot be guaranteed. It is important that you ask your local Dairy Queen® restaurant for an ingredient listing of the specific item in question and let them know of your special needs.
